Yes, these baby chicks began laying delicious eggs in June, 2009 and they really are happy chicks!

The girls get plenty of exercise in their outdoor garden, happily digging up bugs and yummy worms, eating greens to supplement their poultry feed. No antibiotics or hormones are in their feed or corn scratch. In their part of the garden, we plant foraging greens, including Purslane. Purslane contains alpha-linolenic acid, one of the highly sought-after Omega-3 fatty acids, enriching the egg quality. We keep planting garden areas just for the girls and they devour it in no time!

With the variety of chickens at Harmon Gardens, we have a bevy of beautiful colored eggs! Although the color of the egg shell makes no difference in egg quality, getting daily exercise and eating natural greens makes all the difference in a tasty egg!
